When a man loves a woman

I was today years old when I became a gift for a friend’s love. I always imagined showing up as a gift on a beach getaway, but it hit a little different to play supporting character energy during a grand illustration of love. I was here for it!!!

Today I woke up all smiles. I said goodbye to my mother as I left her at my home to frolic off to Mexico. Plus, I could see my friend Tatiana, whom I love dearly. It was her birthday, and I did everything possible not to say, “see you soon,” when I communicated with her over text. She had no idea where she was going for her birthday or that anyone would be there besides her and her man. I felt filled with love, joy, and compassion as I knew each moment would be a beautiful experience.

So I told my mother that I loved her before heading to the airport. The good thing about the Atlanta International terminal is that there is rarely a line. I was in the Delta Skyclub less than 30 minutes from leaving my front door. I was getting it started early as I was ready to celebrate.

Later, Sam tells me to pretend it’s a coincidence when I run into them. At first, Tatiana didn’t think anything about seeing me there since I travel so much. But then she finally asked me, “are you part of my surprise"?’. To which I of course, said, “yes”

We had a grand time laughing and carrying away until it was time to board our flight. Everything was so easy as the gate was a short walk away from the lounge and we could board without waiting as soon as we arrived, so in my account, everything was perfect.

Our flight was easy, and it seemed like we made it to Tulum in the blink of an eye. Maybe it was a blink of my eye as I slept through the entire flight. I was ready to go!!

Eventually, we headed to our villa with a gentle ride beneath us. We made a quick stop for some ceviche and horchata, and I felt like I was home. I grew up on the border of Mexico, so everything Mexican reminds me of my childhood.

Miracles and Wonders

  • Our flight departed Atlanta on time, while 90% of the other flights to Cancun were canceled that day

  • We had fantastic ceviche at a gas station in Tulum. It was better than most ceviche that I’ve tried in Atlanta.

  • We celebrated a wonderful birthday with Tatiana, a dream even to me.

Eventually, we arrive at our Villa and my jaw hit the floor. We were in this magically beautiful space, in the midst of lusciousness and good energy.

The view from the front door of our villa in Tulum, making it clear the reason why we were all here.

We were so excited and happy with how we were welcomed into our home.

We spent some time relaxing and getting ready before heading to the birthday dinner in the Hotel district. It was the 4 of us as everyone else missed their flight. But the experience was delicious all the same.

It was. perfect day. A perfect birthday. Being a part of Tatian’s gift made me feel like I was fulfilling my need to share love with the world. I felt fulfilled, grounded and 100% myself.
