Return to Lisbon, the Garden Room, and adventure planning
My head was swirling, reprioritizing my list of important things time and time again. I had to ensure I optimized my fitness, packed in a carry-on for two climates, and remained calm to preserve my energy. I was determined to be good company all day.
Historically, I’ve been one of those people who constantly make lists. Before bed, there are the top 5 things to accomplish for the next day. Then throughout the day, some things that may need attention to appear in the present moment, bumping something off the list. Then, there are all the things you have to do to prepare for the future. But today, I said that I would let Zoë wing it and figure my life out.
We knew I was leaving for NYC and Bermuda within the next 24 and 24 hours, respectively. We knew we needed to pack and prepare the house for our adventure. We knew that we had to be on our best behavior, as I was open to having as many in-alignment friends as possible in my
The funny thing was that I found the picture when we first met. We both had a layover at JFK on our way to Lisbon, and Isioma sat across from me in the Delta Skyclub. The Delta Sky Club is where I found both boyfriends and good girlfriends in 2022.
Miracles and Wonders
My heart felt at ease once again
I received an avalanche of requests for more information about the acquisition
I was able to stay in my trophy wife mode while running errands and was treated accordingly
I spent quality time with Isiomia, a friendship that we cultivated in Lisbon, Portugal
I surpassed my own limits of how much fun that I could have in a day
Isiomia was in town on business and visiting family. She had never visited the Garden Room before and a last-minute reservation had become available. So, we met and caught up in the beauty of the ambiance.
One thing I must say is that I was instantly drawn to the calm luxury of Isioma. She was beautiful, poised, collected, a world traveler, and had an open heart. Soon after meetings her, I felt we could share anything and go on any adventure together. Also, she took care of the details. I’m the kind of person who likes it when other people pick the itinerary, restaurant etc, and Isiomia’s taste was and continues to be perfectly aligned with my preferences.
Believe it or not, I suggested we continue to hang out after dinner. Oddly enough, I didn’t want this night to end. So we walked over to the Atlas and the bar at St. Regis. Then, we drove over to the Tompson Hotel before we both elected to call it a night.
On the drive home, I reflected on how you have to seize the moment, wheater through business, friendships, fun, or adventure. I was externally grateful to have my newest friend serve as a beautiful combination of these elements.
